The team behind Concrete Guard Insurance

We are a specialty agency that writes one class — concrete contractors — under the Wexford Insurance, LLC umbrella. This page is who we are and why we built it.

Why Concrete Guard Insurance exists

Concrete Guard Insurance is a specialty brand of Wexford Insurance, LLC, built for the concrete contractors who pour, place, and haul the concrete the rest of construction is built on. We are not a general agency that happens to write a concrete account now and then — we write this class specifically, and we place it with carriers that actually want the work. We have built coverage programs for 100+ concrete businesses, and that focus is the whole point.

The insight the brand is built on is that “concrete contractor” is not one risk but three operating models that look almost nothing alike to an underwriter. A concrete construction and installation contractor pours and finishes flatwork, slabs, driveways, and foundations, where the defining exposure is installed work that fails downstream — the products-completed-operations claim on a slab or foundation — on top of a labor-heavy crew that makes workers compensation central. A concrete pumping contractor places concrete through a boom, where the defining exposures are the catastrophic power-line contact of a boom on general liability and the single high-value pump truck on commercial auto. A ready-mix operation runs a mixer fleet under federal motor-carrier rules, where commercial auto is the dominant line and the load can set before it is delivered. A policy rated to a generic “contractor” misprices one model and leaves the others exposed. We separate the three and rate each to what it actually does.

Concrete is also a multi-state, contract-driven business — crews cross state lines, general contractors and developers set their own certificate-of-insurance and limit requirements, and some states license concrete or general contractors while others do not. We are licensed across 48 states and place coverage through a 23-market specialty panel, so coverage fits the class wherever your crews, trucks, and jobs are. Whether you want to talk through a renewal, a new venture, or a project contract that just landed with limit requirements you do not recognize, that is a conversation we have every day.
